Recently, Pakistan's Indus River--which flows the length of the country north to south--flooded its banks leaving millions of people without food, shelter, and clean water. These people have lost everything and now face malaria, cholera, and other water borne diseases.
On Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Indian Cooking Teacher, Noorani is hosting a special fundraiser at Zam Zam Market where those of you will be able dine on an authentic Pakistani meal. The fundraiser is on the behalf of the Focus Humanitarian Assistance Organization, who will be using the monies raised towards relief efforts . There is a suggested donation of $30 in a form of check to Focus Humanitarian Assistance to attend this event, but doesn't include the cost of the food. The meal, which will run $12 plus tip and gratuity to help cover the cost of the food from Zam Zam, will include:
- Chicken Biryani
- Karahi Chicken
- Chicken Tikka
- Beef Kebabs
- Vegetables
- Naan (Bread)
- Raita (Yogurt condiment)
- Kheer (Rice Pudding)
- Masala Chai (Hot spiced Tea)
